The Electronic Sports League (ESL) is the global leading esports organization, especially when it comes to championships and big prize money. All dedicated CS:GO players all dream of moving up the ranks and playing in one of the big events.

ESL Events 2017

ESL has plenty of events lined up again for 2017 and 2018 and most are qualification events that build up to the big ones: ESL One Cologne, ESL One New York, Intel Extreme Masters and the ESL Pro League season 5 Finals.

Intel Extreme Masters

The first big event of this year is the Intel Extreme Masters, which takes place on the 6th and 7th of May in Sydney, Australia. This top league event has a prize pool of $200,000 Australian dollars. On the 3rd and 4th of May the group stages take place, without spectators, but fans can fallow the competition on The only team to have qualified as of yet are Vici Gaming. The invited teams for closed qualifier are: Tainted Minds, Chiefs.ESC, Team Immunity, Dark Sided, Avant Garde, Legacy Esports, Athletico and Jam Gaming.

Pro League finals

On the 3rd and 4th of June in Dallas, Texas USA the top teams that qualified during the season 5 relegation events, held online from the 16th to the 18th of May, will battle for a part of the total prize pool of $1.5 million

ESL One Cologne

This year the ESL One Cologne event will take place from the 7th to the 9th of July in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany. 14000 fans are set to join the event. The online qualifications for this tournament will take place on the 20th of May for the North America teams and the 21st of May for the European teams.

ESL One New York

Taking place on the 16th and 17th of September in the Barclays Center in New York, more than 40 CSGO teams are set to take part this year. Details are not known yet, but last year’s prize pool was $250,000. Surely it won’t be less this year!

The competition is fierce and with many ESL ranking matches occurring all the time, leaderboards and qualifications are constantly changing. No doubt that the top ranking teams such as Astralis, FaZe, Virtus.Pro, SK and Natus Vincere will be present at all these events, either through invite or by qualification.
